Essential Question: How can you use properties to explain patterns?

Identity Property of Addition: the sum of any number and zero is that number.

7 + 0 = 7
210 + 0 = 210

Commutative Property of Addition: you can add two or more numbers in any order and get the same number.
(in addition you can switch the addends in any order to get the same answer)

3 + 4 = 7
4 + 3 = 7

So...., 
3 + 4 = 4 + 3

Even or Odd? 

even + even = even
odd + odd = even
odd + even = odd
